St. Clair has once again been named among the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals^® in 2021 as determined by IBM Watson Health. St. Clair is the only hospital in western Pennsylvania to receive the distinction, and one of just sixteen hospitals in the country to receive the honor in four consecutive years. The list is determined based on hospitals’ annual performance in patient safety, quality, patient satisfaction, efficiency, and effectiveness in promoting community health.

St. Clair is the only hospital in Pennsylvania and one of only 33 hospitals nationwide to have earned 20 straight ‘A’ ratings since the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade program was introduced. This places St. Clair among the top 1.1 percent of hospitals in America.

The Leapfrog Group, the nation’s leading patient safety watchdog, uses more than 30 measures of patient safety data to assign semi-annual grades to every general acute-care hospital across the nation. The grade measures hospitals’ performance in preventing medical errors, injuries, accidents, infections, and other harm to patients.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has awarded St. Clair Health a five-star rating as part of its Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings for 2022. This is the second year in a row and fourth time in the last five years that St. Clair Health has received the highest possible rating. Plus, it is one of only two hospitals in Western Pennsylvania to receive a five-star rating this year. Further proof that St. Clair Health provides expert care from people who care.
