She especially loves working with vibrant colors and large spaces to convey the energy and life of her topic through murals. She enjoys incorporating photography, textured papers, and other multimedia materials to give the works depth and richness. She is a Carlow University BA Art Educator with more than 20 years’ experience as well as a Resident Artist in the Artists in Education Partnership through the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.  She was awarded participation in the Fulbright-Hays Group Project Abroad Art and Society: Brazil/U.S. Educational Partnership.

Please join us for a yoga session, available for any survivor, family, friend and/or caregivers. The yoga session will be led by instructor, Sudha Krishnasamy.

No prior experience is necessary. Please wear loose and comfortable clothing.  Parking will be validated for this event. Please make sure to bring your ticket with you to the event.

Restorative Movement

Restorative exercises are activities designed to help with muscle recovery and overall well-being. This technique is also known as active recovery. These exercises tap into the body’s healing mechanisms while also promoting mental and physical relaxation. Join licensed personal trainer, professional dancer and teaching artist Simon Phillips to explore mindfulness with dance inspired movement. No experience needed and fully adaptable to any physical limitations.

Simon Phillips is inspired by the nature of sensation, biomechanics, and physiology. Originally from Macon, Georgia, he began dance training primarily for recreation. Simon attended Kennesaw State University where he graduated as a Who’s Who scholar with bachelor’s degrees in psychology and dance. His career brought him to Pittsburgh in 2017, where he has since worked as a professional dancer and teaching artist for the local community. Currently serving as Education Coordinator for PearlArts @ KST Mutual Aid residency and a licensed personal trainer. Simon is passionate about service in arts & health administration to promote holistic wellbeing.
