Self-care

Self-care options include a regular sleep schedule, healthy diet, and regular exercise. Consuming less caffeine during the day and avoiding caffeine at night may help.

When to seek immediate medical care

See a doctor immediately if:

  • Accompanied by severe pain
  • Having chest pain, irregular heartbeat, or shortness of breath
  • Abnormal bleeding
  • Feeling faint
  • Thinking about suicide

When to make a doctor's appointment

Make an appointment to see a doctor if:

  • Fatigue lasts two weeks or longer
  • Fatigue interferes with ability to work or complete daily tasks
  • Feeling sad or a sense of feeling slowed down
