Thickened layers of skin, often on the hands or feet.


Soak the callused area frequently in warm, soapy water, and then use a pumice stone to rub off hardened skin. Follow up with moisturizer.

See a doctor immediately if:

  • Diabetes
  • Poor blood flow

When to make a doctor's appointment

Make an appointment to see a doctor if:

  • Painful callus
  • Inflammation
  • Painful break in skin
