Urethritis


Inflammation of the tube carrying urine from the bladder to the outside of the body.

Overview

Urethritis is a bacterial or viral infection that causes swelling and irritation of the urethra. It's commonly caused by a sexually transmitted infection.

Symptoms

Symptoms include painful, burning, or frequent urination, or a discharge from the urethra.

Treatments

Treatment involves antibiotics.
