Staphylococcal infection

An infection caused by staphylococcus bacteria commonly found on skin or in the nose.


A staph infection is caused by staphylococcus bacteria. These bacteria are commonly found on the skin or in the nose.


Staph infections can range from minor skin symptoms to food poisoning and a bloodstream infection.


Treatment includes antibiotics or drainage of the infected area.
