A staph infection is caused by staphylococcus bacteria. These bacteria are commonly found on the skin or in the nose.

Symptoms

Staph infections can range from minor skin symptoms to food poisoning and a bloodstream infection.

Treatments

Treatment includes antibiotics or drainage of the infected area.
