Lung cancer


A cancer that begins in the lungs and most often occurs in people who smoke.

Overview

Lung cancer begins in the lungs. Causes include smoking, secondhand smoke, exposure to certain toxins, and family history.

Symptoms

Symptoms include cough, chest pain, wheezing, and weight loss and often don't appear until the cancer is advanced.

Treatments

Treatment may include surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation.
