Overview

Food poisoning is illness caused by eating contaminated food. Infectious organisms or their toxins are the most common causes.

Symptoms

Food poisoning signs and symptoms may include nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.

Treatments

Most food poisoning is mild and resolves without treatment. Some cases are severe, requiring hospitalization.
