100 Top Hospitals

IBM Watson, 2021 Winner IBM Watson Health utilizes objective, publicly available data to identify the 100 Top Hospitals annually based on clinical, operational, patient safety and financial metrics. This marks the fourth consecutive year and seventh overall that St. Clair has won this prestigious honor, the most in western Pennsylvania.

CMS Awards 5-Star Rating for High Quality Care

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) awarded St. Clair Health a five-star rating as part of its Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings for 2022. This is the second year in a row and fourth time in the last five years that St. Clair Health has received the highest possible rating. Plus, it is one of only two hospitals in Western Pennsylvania to receive a five-star rating this year.

Recipient of HAP’s Excellence in Patient Safety Recognition

In 2020, St. Clair Hospital was  honored as part of the inaugural class of The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania’s (HAP) Excellence in Patient Safety Recognition program. The program identifies and recognizes those member hospitals that perform better than the mean standardized infection ratio in three key measures. 21 hospitals were recognized for this achievement.

Leapfrog Straight A’s

In Spring 2022, St. Clair Hospital received its 20^th consecutive ‘A’ grade for patient safety from The Leapfrog Group. St. Clair is the only hospital in Pennsylvania and one of only 33 hospitals nationwide to have earned 20 straight ‘A’ ratings since the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade program was introduced.

Ranked #1 for Overall Hospital Care, Overall Medical Care, and Overall Surgical Care

CareChex Quality Awards, Pittsburgh Market, 2018 Winner St. Clair Hospital also ranked within the top 10% nationwide for Overall Hospital Care and Overall Surgical Care.

Outstanding Patient Experience Award

HealthGrades, 2018 Winner HealthGrades’ Outstanding Patient Experience Award winner for 3 consecutive years, signifying the Hospital’s ranking in the top 15% of U.S. hospitals in Patient Satisfaction scores.

Patient Safety Excellence Award

HealthGrades, 2018 Winner HealthGrades’ Patient Safety Excellence Award winner for 3 consecutive years. This award recognizes hospital’s achievements in the prevention of infections, medical errors and complications.

Hospitals & Health Networks (H&HN) magazine, July 2020 H&HN magazine included St. Clair on its annual list of the Most Wired Hospitals in the nation for the sixth year in a row.
