Join St. Clair Health’s heart experts on Monday, February 6th to meet our highly-trained surgeons and cardiologists and learn about our heart services and offerings, real-life scenarios, and how to maintain heart health through your lifetime.

From diagnosis to treatment to rehabilitation and wellness, our multidisciplinary team of caregivers at St. Clair offer a full range of cardiac care services. In this live roundtable discussion, you will hear from the leading heart experts in our region regarding complex heart cases and procedures such as

  • MitraClip: A procedure to fix your mitral valve. During the operation, surgeons access the mitral valve with a thin tube (called a catheter) that is guided through a vein in your leg to reach your heart. A small implanted clip is attached to your mitral valve to help it close correctly.
  • TAVR: During this minimally invasive procedure a new valve is inserted without removing the old, damaged one. The new valve is placed inside the diseased valve. The surgery may be called a transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).
  • TCAR: Transcarotid Artery Revascularization (TCAR) is a clinically proven, minimally invasive procedure to treat carotid artery disease and help prevent stroke. TCAR is distictive in that blood flow is temporarily stored during the operation so that any amount of plaque that may break off are directed away from the brain.
  • Watchman: The device helps with Atrial fibrillation and the device is implanted in the LAA (left atrial appendage) and acts as a “plug” to prevent blood clots from forming in the appendage.
