Q: What sparked your interest to focus in this particular service line?
A:I find great satisfaction in rapidly establishing genuine connections with patients and colleagues, as well as in the decisive and efficient nature of treatment and recovery in hospital medicine.

Q: What makes you excited to teach residents?
A: Teaching at St. Clair to a smaller cohort of residents allows the opportunity for more hands-on time to help them achieve their goals, not just meet a benchmark.  Selfishly, I love the chance to “puzzle” together findings about a brand new patient.  The residents’ presence will clearly help foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within our St Clair community.

Q: What other social/cultural areas are you passionate about?
A: Healthcare IT and the positive or negative impact on both patients and physicians.

Q: What’s your most impactful story?
A: It is easy to get overwhelmed in direct patient care, or cynical with the lack of perfection in medicine.  A simple interaction with a friend/cardiologist, “Just remember, the patients are better for us being here”.  It helps remind me that striving to provide high quality care may feel like a “drop in the bucket,” but for that patient it may mean the world.

Q: What interested you to come work for St. Clair Health?
A:
Being part of a community hospital allowed for a much more personal experience with my partners and colleagues.
