Application Information

Application Deadline:  Our program participates in the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP). We will only accept applications through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). The application deadline for our program is mid-December; however, we prioritize applications in the order they are received. Our program number is 1404100004.

Application Requirements:

  • Complete common ERAS application
  • Medical school transcript
  • Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE)/Dean’s Letter
  • Three letters of recommendation (a minimum of one recommendation required from an ABIM certified physician)
    • We do not have an exact letter of recommendation quantity requirement, but we recommend three letters. Rather, we strongly encourage letters of support from individuals who have worked with you in a clinical, coaching/mentoring, leadership, or scholarly capacity to facilitate commentary on your clinical acumen, work ethic, dedication, and interpersonal communication skills. We encourage students to obtain at least two letters from an individual in internal medicine (e.g. department chair, clerkship director, faculty attending, specialist, coach/mentor, etc.). The other letter(s) can be assigned at the applicant’s discretion.
  • USMLE and/or COMLEX Board Scores
    • You must have passed your USMLE Step 1 or COMLEX Level 1 before applying
    • You are required to have passed your USMLE Step 2 or COMLEX Level 2 prior to the close of the NRMP ranking

Program Signaling: We prioritize the review of applications from those applicants who have signaled our program. We also may prioritize interview invitations to those applicants who have signaled our program.  However, we will still review applications and invite applicants for interviews who have not signaled our program.  Program signaling is not a factor in our rank list determination.

Interview Process: We will begin reviewing applications as soon as they are available through ERAS.  Interview invitations will be sent through ERAS on a rolling basis, with invitations sent by the end of December. Interviews will take place from the end of October until the beginning of February and will be conducted virtually.
