Applicants must meet the following qualifications to be eligible for appointment to a St. Clair Health Graduate Medical Education Program:
Graduates of medical schools in the U.S. and Canada accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) (only applicable for programs approved by Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education).
Graduates of COCA (Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation) accredited colleges of osteopathic medicine in the U.S.
Graduates of medical schools outside the U.S. and Canada who have a full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a U.S. licensing jurisdiction.
Applicants have successfully passed all examination as deemed required by each training program and passed USMLE Step 1 & 2 and COMLEX 1, 2CE, & 2PE prior to the close of the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) ranking in March. Trainees are to pass each step within 3 attempts and within the time limits sanctioned by the board of medicine for the state in which they are pursuing training.
Applicants are eligible for a training certificate and/or unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Pennsylvania.
If applicable, Program Directors must comply with the criteria for trainee eligibility as specified in the ACGME Institutional Requirements, dental requirements, post-graduate Ph.D. requirements and any other program specific accreditation body eligibility requirements.
