Introduction to Breastfeeding

Led by a lactation specialist, Introduction to Breastfeeding is designed to facilitate a woman’s choice to breastfeed. The “why and how” of breastfeeding are discussed, along with emphasis on positioning baby, latching on, breast care, the father’s role, returning to work and breastfeeding challenges. Participants are given the opportunity to ask questions, and view nursing accessories. Introduction to Breastfeeding should be completed between the fifth and eighth month of pregnancy, and prior to the 36th week of pregnancy. Partners are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
