Q: What sparked your interest to focus in total joint replacement?
A: There is no better feeling than being able to take away someone’s hip or knee pain and restore them back to a higher level of activity and function. Living in pain affects all facets of a person’s life, from recreational activity to their mental health. Fortunately, hip and knee replacement can make a life-changing difference and I love being able to help facilitate this.
Q: Who was your role model growing up and encouraged you to follow your dreams?
A: My parents. They inspired me to work hard and live a life that is more than just about me. My dad is a Vietnam veteran and my mom was a special education teacher for 30 years. They instilled a work ethic that has helped get me to where I am now and have always been there to offer support.
Q: What’s the most interesting story that you have working with your colleagues?
A: I had the opportunity to spend 6 months at a NATO hospital in Kabul staffed by medical personnel from Australia, Turkey, the United Kingdom, Slovakia, Czechia, Norway and Romania. We took turns celebrating each nation’s holidays and traditions. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and generated lots of good memories and friendships!
