St. Clair Hospital Golf Classic and Gala

     St. Clair Hospital Golf Classic & Gala is an annual event that helps to raise awareness and funds for a designated area of the Hospital each year.  Over the past 11 years, the Golf Classic & Gala has raised more than $1 million that went to various projects, such as the Heart Center Fund, the Orthopedic Fund, “Building on Success” Capital Campaign Fund and the Emergency Department Expansion Fund.

     Over 500 guests attended the 2009 Gala, which was held Sunday, July 19 at the Hilton Garden Inn, Southpointe. The event was hosted by WTAE personality Andrew Stockey and featured “Art Madness” by George Williams. The artist created three Pittsburgh sports themed paintings during the gala. The paintings were later auctioned live at the event with each original artwork garnering over $1200. A painting of Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl heroes Ben Roethlisberger, Santonio Holmes and James Harrison claimed the highest bid bringing in $2,000.

      The following day, 134 duffers hit the links at St. Clair Country Club for the Golf Classic, which featured two shotgun starts. The golfers enjoyed the beautiful course followed by a delicious buffet dinner and golf ball drop from the rigging of an Upper St. Clair fire engine. The owner of the ball closest to the pin took home a prize purse of $1,200. 
 
     St. Clair Hospital’s Emergency Department Expansion Project is the beneficiary of the proceeds from the 2009 Golf Classic & Gala.

The St. Clair Hospital Foundation sponsors an annual fashion show to benefit the Hospital. The date for the 2009 event has not yet been scheduled. Ticket purchases include lunch and tickets for the popular Chinese auction.  Cost to attend the luncheon is $50 per ticket.
