Pre-authorization is required for specified services based on your insurance company’s requirements and processing guidelines. Required pre-authorization for service must be obtained prior to the date of service to minimize the risk of increased patient responsibility or deferred service. In most cases, the doctor who is requesting the service will work with your insurance company to obtain authorization for service. Some insurance companies can take up to 72 hours to process and provide authorization.

If you have questions  regarding any insurance coverage, please contact your insurance company directly.

Visiting hours

St. Clair Hospital recognizes that visits from family and friends are important during a patient’s hospitalization. For your comfort and that of nearby patients, St. Clair Hospital provides a range of visiting hours to suit patients with varied needs.

To maintain a quiet and restful atmosphere, visitors should be limited to two visitors at a time per patient. In general, visitors are encouraged to come to the Hospital between the hours of noon and 8:00 p.m.  Visiting by children less than 12 years of age, due to the potential for inadvertent transmission of disease, requires special permission from the nurse manager or charge nurse.

Some specialty nursing units have different visiting hours.  If you have questions about the visiting hours for your unit, please ask your nurse.
